Montagnier shared the Nobel in 2008 for work on HIV
In 2010 he quit France and went to research in Shanghai - he left France because he disliked what he considered the climate of intellectual terrorism . Montagnier is a blunt character and is known to rub people up the wrong way (i.e. he is not particularly diplomatic)
In 2017 he proposed views which were considered anti-vax and he was admonished by the French Academie of Medicine of which he is a member for what they considered were irresponsible views.
He apparently espoused the view the virus escaped from a Chinese lab at the beginning of the epidemic, but that view was rebutted very quickly by the Chinese who published an analysis of the genome of the virus - according to the commentator the rapidity of the Chinese response was surprising and there are a lot of unknowns about it. Montagnier is rubbished in the podcast as a conspiracy theorist
A Professor Stahl from Grenoble is interviewed and he says Montagnier's ideas are fake news and that his ideas on the virus escaping from a lab are not supported by the mainstream infectious diseases experts.

Luc Montagnier added that with the help of interfering waves, we could eliminate these sequences and as a result stop the pandemic.
This is enough to feed some heated debates! So much so that Professor Montagnier's statements could also place him in the category of "conspiracy theorists":
"Conspirators are the opposite camp, hiding the truth," he replies, without wanting to accuse anyone, but hoping that the Chinese will admit to what he believes happened in their laboratory.
To entice a confession from the Chinese he used the example of Iran which after taking full responsibility for accidentally hitting a Ukrainian plane was able to earn the respect of the global community.
Hopefully the Chinese will do the right thing he adds.

A theory put forward by French professor Luc Montagnier — award-winning co-discoverer of the AIDS virus but also mocked by some colleagues for some outrageous theories — has sparked a scientific firestorm in the scientific community.
According to the Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, a man used to controversy, the SARS-CoV-2 virus is the result of an attempt to manufacture a vaccine against the AIDS virus, Agence France Presse reported.
According to him, the presence of elements of HIV in the genome of the new virus, and even of elements of the "germ of malaria" are suspect, the report said. Montagnier, who was interviewed spoke on the CNews channel, said the characteristics of the new coronavirus could not have arisen naturally.
The accident was said to have taken place in the Wuhan City High Security Laboratory, he added.
ATF "The Wuhan city laboratory has specialized in these coronaviruses
since the early 2000s," he claimed. "They have expertise in this area."
He also proposes to rid the virus of these foreign elements "with waves"
— a theory which has attracted mockery in the past.
"That does not make sense. These are very small elements that we find in
other viruses of the same family, other coronaviruses in nature,"
virologist Étienne Simon-Lorière of the Institut Pasteur in Paris,
explained to AFP.
"These are pieces of the genome that actually look like lots of
sequences in the genetic material of bacteria, viruses and plants," he says.
"If we take a word from a book and it looks like another word, can we
say that one has copied from the other? This is absurd!"
Simon-Lorière is manager of the evolutionary genomic structure of RNA
viruses at the Institut Pasteur, the report said.
The alleged modifications of the virus — which would seek to get rid of
foreign elements (genetic pieces of HIV) — are undoubtedly false, adds
Simon-Lorière, who abstained from any comment on Montagnier's "waves"
theory.
The theory that the Covid-19 originated from genetic manipulation has
been circulating in social media and has already been discounted by
in-depth, professional analyses of the genome of the virus communicated
by the Chinese, the report said.
In fact, researchers around the world have since been able to isolate
and analyze them — even samples taken from patients in their own
country, the report said.
Professor Montagnier, a former member of the Institut Pasteur, was
awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine for the identification of the
virus responsible for AIDS, with his colleague at the time, professor
Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, the report said.
In addition to his theories on the electromagnetic waves emitted by DNA
and on the benefits of papaya, which attracted mockery, he appeared in
2017 alongside professor Henri Joyeux, figurehead of anti-vaccines, and
joined his voice to denounce the dangerousness of vaccines and
compulsory vaccination, believing that there was a risk "with good will
at the start, of poisoning the entire population little by little."
According to Nature.com, the Wuhan lab was designed and constructed with
French assistance as part of a 2004 cooperative agreement on the
prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases.
But the complexity of the project, China's lack of experience,
difficulty in maintaining funding and long government approval
procedures meant that construction wasn't finished until the end of 2014.

So the Wuhan lab was ordered to destroy all their synthetic
Coronaviruses on Jan 1st. Which is a strange thing to do if a similar,
but different virus was evolving in the Fish Market around the corner.
But it's the obvious thing to do if a careless lab member made a mistake
and leaked it from the lab. Especially if those viruses had distinctive
HIV sequences embedded in them. Which the man who discovered HIV says
they do.

PARIS (Sputnik) - French virologist Luc Montagnier, who won the Nobel
Prize for the discovery of HIV in 2008, believes that the new
coronavirus is not of natural origin and was developed in a laboratory
in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak.
"It [the virus] is of artificial origin, it is the work of molecular
biologists," Montagnier said in an interview with Pourquoi docteur
newspaper on health on Thursday, adding that HIV particles were added to
COVID-19.
According to the scientist, the Wuhan laboratory has specialized in
these coronaviruses since the early 2000s and its employees had
expertise in this area. The reports that the virus originated in the
so-called wet market in China is "a beautiful legend," as COVID-19 was
developed in the laboratory, he stated.
The virologist also stated that French scientists were not the first to
discover HIV particles, as a group of Indian researchers had earlier

We are currently witnessing a major epidemic caused by the 2019 novel
coronavirus (2019- nCoV). The evolution of 2019-nCoV remains elusive. We
found 4 insertions in the spike glycoprotein (S) which are unique to the
2019-nCoV and are not present in other coronaviruses. Importantly, amino
acid residues in all the 4 inserts have identity or similarity to those
in the HIV-1 gp120 or HIV-1 Gag. Interestingly, despite the inserts
being discontinuous on the primary amino acid sequence, 3D-modelling of
the 2019-nCoV suggests that they converge to constitute the receptor
binding site. The finding of 4 unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV, all of
which have identity /similarity to amino acid residues in key structural
proteins of HIV-1 is unlikely to be fortuitous in nature. This work
provides yet unknown insights on 2019-nCoV and sheds light on the
evolution and pathogenicity of this virus with important implications

One could never be sure whether this movement was Stalinist or Nazi.
Others branded it Yockeyist, after Francis Parker Yockey.
Larouche writers call their opponents 'Nazi' - lest they be called
'Nazi' themselves.
Ex-Larouche writers like Webster C. Tarpley and F. William Engdahl still
perpetuate the Larouche line. For example, Tarpley insists that 911 was
done by the "British', and is adamant in rejecting any Mossad
involvement, whereas Christopher Bollyn assembles evidence for the latter.
Engdahl insists that World War I was entirely the fault of 'the
British'. Admittedly, I would say, the British laid a trap for Germany,
i.e. a trip-line at the Belgian border; but Germany still must be held
accountable for crossing that line; and for allowing its junior partner,
Austria-Hungary, to draw it into war. But the Larouchites say that
Britain pretended that it would not intervene, thus luring Germany in.
However there is evidence that Germany was warned before crossing the
border, that Britain would intervene. My conclusion is that both sides
were to blame. Of course, the Peace Conference of Versailles was
one-sided; we can all agree on that.
Renegade economist Michael Hudson detests Lyndon Larouche, and was
instrumental in having him jailed for fraud. They were both
Trotskytists; Hudson's father Carlos was a Trotskyist leader who
Larouche greatly admired.
In the quality of their economic analysis, there is no comparison
between Larouche and Hudson; Hudson is miles ahead.
Where the Larouchites posit a single conspiracy, I posit several. In my
view, the original British conspiracy was taken over by the Globalists.
The defeat in Vietnam, and the associated 60s movement, marked the end
of the dominance of the British faction in the Anglo-American Establishment.
After that, the Globalist faction, led by Rothschild and Soros, took over.
Boris Johnson and Donld Trump represent a resurgence of the British
faction. But they are forced into alliance with the Zionist faction
(Netanyahu's), because the Global and Zionist factions are so wealthy -
and money buys politicians.
Apart from the above three, I maintain that China is also operating in a
conspiratorial way.
I have read so much Larouche literature, that I can recognize it
instantly. Recently, I have found that Matthew Ehret and Pepe Escobar
are spreading the Larouche line in conspiracy circles.

Kevin Barrett is a dissident academic whom I greatly admire; it pains me
to draw attention to our differences.
Barrett was an academic at the University of Wisconsin, before being
sacked for suggesting that 911 was an Inside Job.
Deprived of his income, he launched radio programs which cover a
remarkable range of topics, and which draw in an income.
I myself have appeared on his program several times. Mostly we are in
agreement, but the China issue touched a raw nerve.
Interviewed on his program, I suggested that China's Belt and Road
program has affinities to Hitler's Autobahn project.
Both are dual-use projects. Hitler's autobahns served as conduits for
his armies in World War II. I suggested that should war break out
between China and the West, China's Belt and road would play the same role.
This upset a number of Barrett's subscribers, who cancelled their
subscriptions - thus pressuring Barrret to exclude such views.
Nevertheless he had me on again more than once. We had common ground on
China's persecution of the Uighurs - Barrett being a convert to Islam. I
expressed disgust that China destroyed the old Silk-Road city of Kashgar.
My comments do not mean that I am siding with the American Empire, any
more than Barret does. Rather, I maintain that China is an imperial
power too; and that the Larouche movement is spreading Chinese
propaganda in the West. EIR and other Larouche publications today may be
partly funded by China; they should be audited.
